Dinner on a Dime: Chicken Parma Casserole
This dish is quick, easy, filling, and the best part is that it is cheap to make.
Ingredients ($15 or less based on brand and store):
1 bag of frozen chicken nuggets (or frozen chicken patties) $5
1 jar of spaghetti sauce $3
1 8 oz. bag of shredded cheese $5
Optional: 1 box of pasta $2
Heat oven to 350˚
Layer chicken nuggets (or patties) in a 11x7-in. oven safe baking dish
Pour spaghetti sauce over chicken
Hint: To get the extra sauce out of the jar, pour the sauce into a bowl then fill the jar 1/4th of the way with water, close and shake. Pour contents of jar into bowl, mix, then pour over chicken.
You can also add spices to the sauce for an extra dimension of flavor. I suggest Italian Seasoning, Oregano, or Garlic.
Layer shredded cheese on top evenly. If you have any extra chicken, repeat steps.
Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the chicken is heated throughout and the cheese is melted.
If making pasta to go with it, cook according to the directions on the box.
