Dinner on a Dime: Cinnamon Sugar Tortilla Chips

February 14, 2018

Ingredients ($10 or less depending on brand and store):

  • Package of Flour Tortillas ($2.50)

  • Butter ($2.50)

  • Cinnamon Sugar ($4)

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F

  • Brush your tortillas with melted butter (I suggest melting about 3 tablespoons to be safe)

    • If you wish to not use butter, you can use a butter flavored cooking spray

  • Sprinkle your tortillas with cinnamon sugar (You can also combine 1/3 cup white sugar and 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon if you do not wish to use premade cinnamon sugar)

  • Cut each tortilla into 8 wedges and place on an ungreased cookie sheet

  • Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until the chips are lightly browned and crisp

This is a super fun and easy recipe. You can dip the chips in hot cocoa, whipped cream, caramel,  or just eat them hot out of the oven! If they are a bit too sweet for you, try adding a touch of chili powder or salt. Be very careful with chili powder because sugar enhances spice. I recommend either using small amounts of cinnamon sugar or using a touch of salt to cut the sweetness.
